Stephen Davies, CEO and Founder of Javelin Wealth Management, spoke with Bryan Curtis and Juliette Saly on Bloomberg Daybreak Asia, and with Haslinda Amin on Bloomberg TV on Monday October 18. Below are key highlights from the interviews:
China’s 20th Congress Party Address: China’s president Xi Jinping was long on generalities and short on specifics. Asian nations are still treading warily between US and China, expect that policy of “aggressive neutrality” to continue.
Weak Japanese Yen: It’s surprising that the Bank of Japan is committed to very loose monetary policies, but expect that the weakness of Japanese Yen will turn around at some point.
UK Economy: Expect a return to orthodoxy and not all the big tax cuts will fly, which will please the markets.
Investments: Take advantage of higher interest rates and leave capital as deposits for a while.
